I think this show is just inherently different from shows like Owl House & Amphibia, so not sure how much the extra shorts would have sparked more interest. But hey, what do I know. 🤷‍♂️ I do think you make a point about how differently this show would have performed if it were released in the early 2010s. It honestly gives off some mid/late-2000s vibes. I'd probably blame most of the cancellation on the awkward shifts to streaming with the issues you mentioned, as well as the lack of faith Disney in general has towards Disney Channel and pretty much anything that's not Big City Greens or Phineas and Ferb. I think the DTVA department needs more support from the mouse itself - be willing to take a few more risks with their TV properties. After all, that lack of faith is pretty much why Owl House got cut short.

While I think representation is a good thing, I think we need to be careful when it comes to certain topics. For example, I'm very concerned about the emphasis on pronouns in kids/tween shows. NOT because I'm transphobic, I fully support older teens and adults being involved in pride and the lgbtq+ movement. But children and tweens are very impressionable. I'm not saying that lgbtq kids don't exist, but it's definitely something for creators to keep in mind, that's all. As for other issues, I think too much focus on real-world issues brings alot of fun out of kids/tween shows. It's okay to sprinkle it in here and there, but I think good kids/tween shows should mainly on the plot and characters. However, this is just my honest opinion and I'm very open-minded of differing thoughts and povs (which is why I suscribed:)

While I can definitely agree that Molly's parents have good aspects and deeply care and show love/affection to their children, I dont think they're as good parents as they should be. For example, in mommas gotta hustle, Scratch shows Sharon a restaurant that needs hiring but Sharon doesn't listen because she "doesn't WANT to work there". Mind you, the mcgees really needed more money asap! Also, Pete literally got his whole family homeless for choosing to fix the roof himself, instead of paying a hundred dollars for help. Plus Pete always gets himself in danger with his clumsiness, which is prolly why Molly is similar to her dad that way. Pete and Sharon are both very inmature for their age, not always show responsibility for their actions or face consequences. They rarely discipline or ground Molly or Daryll when they make trouble, or if they do, it's not very often. They also put 13 year old Molly, the oldest child, in situations when she has to emotionally care for her entire family and be the diplomat. I'm not villianizing Sharon and Pete, they are very loving caring parents. I just don't think they're very mature or responsible parents.

Its insane to me how a single line from a cartoon completely changed the useage of a common phrase. Like you never hear the original "if i had a (amount of money) for every (thing that happens)" phrase anymore, but you hear the doofenschmirtz version *everywhere* nowadays.
